2021 Melbourne Cup Charity Luncheon

You are cordially invited to don your best fascinator and join us and watch “the Race that Stops the Nation”! The Melbourne Cup Charity Luncheon is an annual event hosted by ANZCham Taipei to give back to the community we love.

This year the Shangri-La will be hosting us in their 3F Grand Ballroom - where we can watch the race on the big screen!

All the revenue from the raffle tickets and profit from the sweepstakes will be donated to The Community Services Center a non-profit organization that provides a support network of counseling, activities, events, cross-cultural education, and information services to meet the needs of the whole international community in Taipei and throughout Taiwan.

About The Melbourne Cup

The Melbourne Cup is Australia's most famous annual Thoroughbred horse race. It is a 3200-metre race for three-year-olds and over, conducted by the Victoria Racing Club on the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Victoria as part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. It has a long tradition, with the first race held in 1861 and it has never been cancelled since. It is commonly billed as 'the race that stops a nation', but it is more accurately the race that stops two nations, as many people in New Zealand, as well as Australia, pause to watch the race.
